BASIC OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

Power ON/OFF

  • Power ON: Plug in the power adapter or insert the battery. Press and hold the power button down until LCD screen lights up.
  • Power OFF: Press and hold the power button down until “Power off” displays, then press [Enter].

Charging Indicator

  • When the green light is on: Charging complete..
  • When the red light is on: Charging.
  • When the red and green light are flashing slowly: Charging problem.

SIM/SAM Card and Battery Installation

SIM/SAM Card

  1. Remove the battery cover.
  2. Remove the battery.
  3. Insert the SAM/SIM card to the corresponding card slot.

PREPARING BATTERY FOR USE

  1. Remove the battery cover.
  2. Remove the battery.
  3. Locate the white tab on the battery and peel back carefully until it is fully removed and the POGO pins are visible.

CARD READERS

The D195 includes the following card readers:

Magnetic Stripe Card (SCRP)

Slide the card through the card reader slot from left to right or from right to left with the magnetic strip oriented towards the body of the device. Make sure that the card is fully inserted into the card reader while swiping the card.

IC/Smart Card Reader

Insert the card fully into the reader with the metallic contacts facing up and towards the device. Make sure that the card is fully inserted into the card reader while scanning the card.

Contactless Card Reader

The contactless card reader reads cards and devices placed roughly within an inch (2.5 mm). For best results, place as close to the reader as possible and center the card over the payment screen.


CLEANING THE DEVICE

  • Do not use industrial strength or abrasive cleaner.
  • Do not immerse the device in water or liquid.
  • Do not spray water or cleaner into EMV Card Reader or ports.

LITHIUM ION BATTERY

  1. Do not use or place the battery in direct sunlight and/or smoky, dusty environments.
  2. Do not strike, squeeze, and/or tread on battery.
  3. Do not throw the battery in any liquids or place in/near fires.
  4. If the battery is deformed or damaged, immediately stop using and dispose of the battery safely.
  5. Please replace the battery if the fully charged capacity falls below 50% of a new battery.
  6. The specified battery model and charger must be used, otherwise there may be an explosion.
  7. Do not charge for longer than 24 hours, overcharging may cause damage or reduce capacity.
  8. Please recharge the battery at least once every 6 months to avoid shortening its life.
  9. Replace battery every two years.
  10. Follow instructions to safely dispose of exhausted batteries.

TERMINAL INSTALLATION AND USAGE TIPS

  • If repairs are required, contact PAX support.
  • If any cables become damaged, seek a replacement.
  • Do not insert unknown materials into any port on the D195; this may cause serious damage.
  • Avoid exposing the device to an excessively hot, dusty, or strong electromagnetic environment.
  • Do not vibrate, shake, or drop the device.
