Front Desk Receptionist Job Summary:
We’re looking for a Technical Documentation Specialist to develop, manage, and maintain high-quality technical documentation that supports our payment devices, software solutions, cloud services, and partner ecosystems. This role bridges the gap between technical teams and end users by translating complex concepts into clear, accurate, and user-friendly documentation. The ideal candidate has a unique ability to simplify complex technical concepts without sacrificing accuracy while also producing detailed technical documentation for developers, engineers, and partners. This individual will collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Software Development, Technical Support, Compliance, Training, and Marketing to ensure documentation is accurate, consistent, and aligned with product requirements.
This is an onsite role in our Jacksonville, FL office working Monday-Friday, 9:00am to 6:00pm.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- • Create, edit, and maintain technical documentation including user guides, installation guides, quick start guides, release notes, FAQs, knowledge base articles, troubleshooting guides, and developer documentation.
- • Partner with Product Management, Engineering, QA, Technical Support, Compliance, and Marketing to gather technical information and translate it into clear, customer-friendly documentation.
- • Develop documentation standards, templates, style guides, and best practices to ensure consistency across all documentation.
- • Maintain version control and ensure documentation remains current as products, software, and cloud services evolve.
- • Organize and manage internal and external knowledge bases to improve information accessibility and customer self-service.
- • Produce documentation supporting payment devices, Android applications, cloud services, developer tools, software platforms, and integrated payment solutions.
- • Create diagrams, workflows, screenshots, and other visual elements that enhance understanding and improve the user experience.
- • Review existing documentation to identify gaps, improve clarity, and eliminate outdated or redundant content.
- • Support new product launches by delivering complete and accurate documentation.
- • Continuously evaluate and improve documentation processes, tools, and standards to increase efficiency and enhance customer experience.
What You’ll Need:
- • Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication, English, Communications, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- • 3–5+ years of experience creating technical documentation for software, hardware, SaaS, or technology products.
- • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- • Demonstrated ability to understand highly technical concepts and translate them into clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- • Equally comfortable creating detailed technical documentation for developers and engineers as well as simplified guides, tutorials, and customer-facing documentation.
- • Strong interviewing and communication skills with the ability to gather technical knowledge from subject matter experts and transform it into accurate, well-organized documentation.
- • Excellent organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, competing priorities, and deadlines.
- • Proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, Engineering, Technical Support, Compliance, Marketing, and Training, to gather information and develop accurate, high-quality documentation.
- Technical Skills:
- • Experience with technical authoring and documentation platforms such as MadCap Flare, Adobe FrameMaker, Confluence, Paligo, Document360, Markdown/Git, or similar documentation management tools.
- • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- • Experience with Jira, Confluence, Git, or other collaboration and project management platforms is preferred.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- • Experience documenting APIs, SDKs, or developer tools.
- • Experience within the payments, fintech, POS, retail technology, or software industries is preferred.
