PAX and CTBC Bank to Bring Innovative mPOS Payment Solution to Taiwan Taxis

Shenzhen, China, 16th December 2015
PAX Technology (HKEx: 00327 – PAX GLOBAL), a global leader in the provision of secure electronic payment terminal solutions, has been selected by one of the largest acquiring banks in Taiwan, Chinatrust Commercial Bank (“CTBC Bank”), to deploy mPOS terminals in taxis across Taiwan.

Nearly 14,000 vehicles in Taiwan will be supplied with PAX’s D200 mPOS terminals, through Airlink Technology Co., Ltd (“Airlink Technology”), a leading local payments system integrator and authorized PAX channel partner. The in-taxi payment system will be significantly improved thanks to the advanced D200 configuration of GPRS and Bluetooth connectivity combined with inbuilt NFC contactless card payments.

Mr. Desmond Chan, Regional Sales Director for PAX’s APAC Region, said, “We are delighted to be serving CTBC Bank in partnership with Airlink Technology.” He added, “The handheld D200 mPOS provides passengers an exceptional experience of a much faster payments process, with digital receipts being sent automatically to passengers’ mobile phones.”

Mr. Daniel Poon, President for PAX’s APAC Region, concluded, “PAX again demonstrates its leading position in the global payments industry and we will continue to explore and create better value for customers in Taiwan and throughout the world.”
