SIBS Deploys Innovative Payment Wallet on PAX Terminals in Portugal

Shenzhen (China), 16 June 2016
PAX Technology (HKEx: 00327 – PAX GLOBAL), a global leader in the provision of secure electronic payment terminal solutions, saw its S900 mobile GPRS payment terminals deployed for the first time at the “Rock in Rio Lisboa” music festival held in Portugal between 19-28 May 2016.

Over 90,000 people a day attended the festival and were able to make payments on 150 PAX terminals deployed by local channel payment system integrator Petrotec on behalf of SIBS, the Portuguese payment authority and a leading European processor.

Mr. João Filipe Costa, Senior Manager at SIBS, commented: “We ran an innovative payment software application called “Mb Way” on the S900 terminal, a mobile phone enabled wallet service that enables cardholders to accept and authorise payment through a push notification received on their mobile phone.”

Mr. Nuno Felicio, R&D Manager at Petrotec, added: “We integrated SIBS requirements on PAX’s superb quality Linux based S900 mobile terminal which today offers GPRS, 3G and WiFi connectivity options.”
